About the Chapter

Connect. Develop. Engage.

Let's face it. As a senior-level IT professional, you have to provide both strategic and tactical direction to your division on a daily basis.

Your staff constantly turns to you for advice, answers and guidance on the various issues plaguing IT departments. What about you? Where do you turn for knowledge, for inspiration, for connections that make a difference?

Turn to the Society for Information Management (SIM). Since 1969, SIM has inspired the minds of the most prestigious IT leaders in the industry. Highly regarded as the premier network for IT leadership, SIM is a community of thought leaders who share experiences and rich intellectual capital, and who explore future IT direction.

Our Chapter's Story

Founded in 1998 as the North Carolina Chapter, we began as one of the first chapters in the Southeast. With members from across the state, the chapter quickly became the premier organization for sharing best practices and developing valuable relationships. With continued growth in the Charlotte metro region, a new chapter was born there in 2010, and we renamed ourselves to reflect the rich history and reach of the Research Triangle Park.

Since inception, the chapter has raised and donated over $250,000 to the promotion of technology and education through its Philanthropic Fund.
