Dinner - Building a Cybersecurity Program Office

  • Embassy Suites Raleigh - Durham Airport 8001 Arco Corporate Drive Raleigh, NC, 27617 United States (map)

The statistics are overwhelming. The threats are real and present. No longer can businesses afford to ignore the need for information security as more than a secondary responsibility for IT departments to administer. Today's modern Information Security Programs and Offices employ cross-functional departments and the role of CISO are increasingly becoming peers to the CIO. Given this trend where does one start? How do you go about building an Information Security Program/Office? What metrics are being captured? What's being reported to the Board of Directors?

Michael Walter, Managing Director of the Atlanta office of Protiviti will join us this month to discuss these very topics.  Michael has more than 15 years of information security experience in industry and consulting.  Michael spent six years at IBM in the Managed Security Services team.  Michael then spent two years at Cybertrust in their professional services practice.  After that, Michael Walter was a co-founder of Arsenal Security Group and spent seven years growing Arsenal’s consulting practice.
